Something has to be said about people saying they do'nt have the issue with the cpu being at 80 to 90% usage when using CS5 or CS6

Lets say something runs at a 100% on a 1 core cpu you will see 100% usage.
If you have a dual core cpu you will see 50% usage that means 100% of one core.

My laptop is quad core with hyper threading that means it looks like I have an 8 core cpu.
So for me 100% of a cpu core usage is 100% / 8 = 12.5% total usage.

So for me when I run dreamweaver cs5 or 6, my cpu usage is around 17.5% meaning it's using 1 full core at 100% and a litle bit more from a second core.

My 17.5% usage means it around 80 to 90 % usage for a older cpu or a dual core only cpu.

I can tell you right now I can have dreamweaver open with nothing in it and still uses cpu usage for nothing, I even turn off auto discovery and still the same thing, and I only have two simple files open a css and a html file and just a few lines of script per file and still cpu usage for nothing, even bloated visual studio these days don't act that way.

Also I had readup onthe problem wih cs5/6 in the past and some one said when the navigate in menus the cpu usage actualy drops, I tested it and it's true for me it goes from from being 17.5% cpu when just open and when I navigate menus in dweaver it drops down to like 2.2% or less for cpu usage for me.

Now that is funny.

Was using windows 7 pro 64bit had same problem.
Now using windows 8 pro 64bit still same problem.
I have a Lenovo thinkpad w520 with 8GB RAM, SSD, NVIDIA Quadro 2000M with 2GB, Intel Core i7-2860QM @ 2.5Ghz up to 3.2Ghz+

Been using adobe products for years, only since they came out with cs5 and cs6 some bugs came out, and same for acrobat 8/9 was good, since 10 came out was bad and not long after they came out with 11. They keep coming out with half versions now like cs5.5 and not long after cs6 comes out so on, they know they have bugs, they can't fix them, so they just come out like 4 months down the road with a new version, haha that is based on the same code from before so most same bugs just come back.

Title: Computer Electronics Engineering Technologist with PC/Mac/Unix/Linux experience since the age for 8, now 28 today so.

The guy that said he don't have this high cpu usage when using cs6 should look again and compare it to his cpu core numbers and do the math like I did.

Only reason I care about this is using 100% of a cpu core means it runs hot.
When I turn off dweaver cpu usage goes down to nothing and I hear my fan turn it self down since it's not using a cpu core anymore for nothing and means it's not hot anymore, I can't afford another laptop like this if this one heats up for nothing when using dweaver, and I love dweaver and use it on a daily basis.

Shit I can run Doom3 and get less heat coming off my laptop lol compared to dweaver, lol kiding but you know what I mean. If you know your games and game engines like I do, you will get a jokes.

Ok, I will create a VM with your characteristics and see what is the issue. Personally I do not have so much troubles on it. If you have Windows 7 Home it may influence in the result (more or less features that I do not know at this time). Since I worked the tutorial using windows 7 Ultimate x64 I can tell you that probably you need to upgrade your OS. Probably is one problem to check out in my testings...
