About Me

My name is John Ericson Rodriguez, and I recently graduated from the program of Master in Religious Education (MRE) from the Unification Theological Seminary in New York City. Also I’m a Computer Science Engineer of the Autonomous University of Colombia (Universidad Autonoma de Colombia). I had been working for companies related to Internet, media and publishing in the last 12 years. Happily Married, and I consider myself as a constant learner, not a master.

My degree in MRE has given me the tools to connect my deep passion for Computer Sciences with my faith as Unificationist. I believe that if you love what you do in your expertise field and connect it to the service of God, many positive things may happening not only to you, but also it will give the support for the needs of your community as well. I want to express it through sharing my knowledge, counseling and youth ministry.

In my list of computer skills I had experience on:

• More than 8 years of development of web applications, this include the following frameworks:
  • PHP 4 to 5.3
  • ASP
  • Adobe Coldfusion from version mx to 9

• More than 11 years working with web designing, this include from the graphical design to the final release in HTML format, and its interactivity with the user. I used for this purposes:
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Fireworks
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe Flash Professional
  • Adobe Dreamweaver
  • CSS2/CSS3 style format under HTML 4.01 and the new HTML5 standards
  • jQuery Framework and jQueryUI

• More than 8 years in Database development, designing and implementation. I used for this purposes
  • MySQL 4.1 and above versions
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2007 Enterprise and above versions
  • Interbase Firebird

• More than 5 years in Microsoft Windows Server Environments, this include:
  • Management of Active Directory (including devices/users/printers/etc)
  • Installation and Configuration of dedicated DNS servers
  • Installation and configuration of dedicated webserves with IIS

• 2 year of experience in Linux Server Environments. Only this expertise applies for Ubuntu and Debian server Environments. This include:
  • Configuration of Virtual Environments with VirtualBox
  • Dedicated Webserver LAMP installations
  • Dedicated Database (MySQL/Firebird) installations
